Final News and Saturday Itinerary

26 June 2008 - Details for Saturday's itinerary and other important reminders

Itinerary

Eriskay Community Hall, 1430 -1730 Saturday (Everyone please): General Welcome; General Briefing; Questions from all team members. Note that later briefings will be specific to Team Leaders and Kayakers (SSO brief) only. Pairs may send both members to briefings. Also in this time-frame, Registration and Kit Info (see below).

NB there is a good little local shop adjoining the hall if you have forgotten something or wish to replace basic stores.

There is unlikely to be a cafe/tea bar but if you bring tea, coffee, mugs etc you can probably use the hall kitchen. Please tidy up after use! It will NOT be possible to cook any meals in the kitchen.

At Registration: All team members are needed please, except in extreme circumstances. We will ask you to: check team member forms and ensure disclaimer is signed; fill in a general form about team members present; give as many mobile phone numbers for team members as you are able to (have numbers with you please!); pay up any outstanding money owed to us (ensure you have booked and paid for ALL food required); admin queries; buy some Buffs and T-shirts to help the rapidly depleting kitty!

1530-1545 Registration for team number 1-5 ONLY

1545-1600 ditto teams 6-10

1600-1615 ditto teams 11-15

1615-1630 ditto teams 16-22 incl.

Venue and time for kayaker kit boat checks t.b.c. by SSO at General Briefing.

1630-1715: at the KIT INFO TABLE! This is an opportunity for you to ask us whether the general or Emergency kit you intend to use/carry is satisfactory, particularly if you are in any doubt about it or have not done the Heb before! There is NO compulsory kit check at Registration this year. NB Kit checks will be spot-checks carried out daily at (secret) venue(s) of our choice. At these you may be asked to: produce for a Marshall or Race official, all the requisite kit, or simply a specific item –you won’t know which it will be! MORAL: carry the right kit as specified in the rules or incur a stiff penalty.

THERE IS NO MEAL PROVIDED ON SAT EVE: YOU NEED TO SOURCE/COOK ONE, YOURSELVES!

CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR PAST NEWSLETTERS AND FOR UPDATES, BEFORE YOU LEAVE.

From approx 1730 you are free to do as you please & go where you like! We will see you at the FERRY Terminal on Sunday at 0940 prompt, unless informed otherwise…over

Other Reminders

Have a Safe trip! Please read all the event information and rules once more, before arriving here!

PENALTIES: Penalties and Prizes documents will be handed out in the hall on Saturday.

CLARIFICATION: Event Guidance Information document actually comprises of the information on the website, it is not a separate document.

EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBERS sheet: a laminated version will be handed out in the hall on Sat –one per team, however it is here, below, if you want to do more or input the numbers into personal phones.

NOT TO PUT YOU OFF, OF COURSE but as I write this, the wind and rain are battering the house and it is pretty cold…do ensure you have enough warm, dry stuff to get you through six days of this. GOD FORBID and I’ll be having strong words with him if he deals us this hand!

Safe Journey, Best wishes, Stef, Paul, Gavin

Final team list excluding withdrawals can be found here.
